Creating Magick This Christmas Season
10/27/2020
![]() Earlier this week I confessed to the whole world on social media, how I had been feeling a bit off a few months back. While I was doing (mostly) wonderful things: working on my wonderful business, connecting with new and old friends on social media, and researching. Yet something didn’t feel right. The problem was, I took an honest look at how I was spending my time, and how it made me feel. And I had to admit: I felt disconnected. Less alive than normal. Less creative, way too speedy and distracted for my own good. I'm sure most of you can you relate? Ever feel like you spend more time in front of your screens than anything else? Scroll here, swipe there. Like, comment. AHHHHHH!!!!!! Some days it is just too much! I also admitted, I do love my digitized, automated, connected world! But sometimes, I think we all need to switch off, ground down, and go at a more human pace. To make things by hand. To dream up a creative item, and see it through to completion. To put more meaning, time, and intention into how we use our minds and our hands. Making things by hand makes us feel human, connected, and alive in a way nothing else can. It's alchemy, magickal. What if you mixed up a homemade facial scrub for your girlfriend, instead of buying one at Sephora? She’d be thrilled at your thoughtfulness … and you would reap all the benefits of making something by hand! So I wanted to share more about how you can create more magick this Christmas, with these simple acts which will have profound benefits. Think: handmade face scrubs, lip gloss and potpourri. Think: the look of glee on your friends’ and family members' faces, as they say, “You made this??!” Think: the joy and magick of making things with your hands, this holiday season. Family Tree Ornaments These fun ornaments from Country Chic Cottage, are a wonderful story to add to someone's Christmas tree every year. Mini Single-Use Soaps I love these mini Christmas tree soaps by Tikkido, which are perfect as a stocking stuffer! DIY Burned Christmas Spoon I've never burned wood, but this tutorial from Burton Avenue promises that no experience is necessary. Peppermint Sugar Scrub A simple but luxurious tutorial by One Crazy Mom, that will leave your skin feeling smooth and silky. DIY Painted Doormat From the Diary Of A Debutante, she walks you through this tutorial from creating a stencil, the type of paint you will need, to weatherproofing your doormat. Gluten Free Gift in a Jar: Monster Cookies in a Jar For all those people who love baked good on your list, these naturally gluten free cookies in a jar from Hunny I'm Home DIY, are not only delicious, but look beautiful in the jar! There is just something therapeutic about creating things by hand. I’m so excited to make these some of these goodies for gifts this Christmas and hope you are too! Making things by hand infuse our days, homes, and lives with more meaning, beauty, and joy.
It’s time to bring back the lost art of working with our hands. Especially for the Holidays. Sending you lots of love this holiday season, Candance #handmade #handmadewithlove #handmadegifts #handmadeaccessory #supporthandmade #handmadeaccessories #handmadecrafts #handmadebyme #handmadeart #handmadelove #handmadeshop #handmadebusiness #handmadedecor #handmadechristmas #designtopic #christmasdecor
